Con el objetivo de comprobar si el enjuague con agua peroxidada mejora la limpieza de las barricas, con respecto a un enjuague con agua de red. Clean-Biotec realiza un estudio en una bodega de Rioja con la tecnología patentada ActivH2O. Esta novedosa tecnología está basada en un proceso de electrólisis que elimina virus y bacterias del agua sin añadir químicos y genera un oxidante natural, principalmente peróxido, con alta capacidad desinfectante.
Se partió de un lote de 12 barricas homogéneas de roble americano (2013). Las barricas se subdividieron en 2 lotes de 6 barricas, que se sometían a diferentes tratamientos, el lote control, barricas 1 a 6, enjuagadas con agua de red, y lote tratamiento (B7-B12) enjuagadas con agua tratada con la tecnología ActivH2O.
Los resultados revelaron que con agua de red se reduce aproximadamente un 43% en aerobios y un 60% en mohos y levaduras, mientras que con agua ActivH2O con solo 8,5 ppm de oxidante natural se reduce un 65% en aerobios (en 3 de las barricas un 100%) y un 80% en mohos y levaduras (en 3 de las barricas un 100%).
Gracias a los estudios realizados por Clean-Biotec se demuestra que el enjuague con agua ActivH2O a 8,5 ppm de oxidante natural tiene un efecto positivo en la reducción de la carga microbiana frente al empleo de agua de red.

Clean-Biotec conducts a study with peroxidada water to improve the cleaning of wine barrels
In order to check if rinsing with peroxity water improves the cleaning of the barrels, with respect to a rinse with mains water. Clean-Biotec conducts a study in a Rioja winery with patented ActivH2O technology. This novel technology is based on an electrolysis process that removes viruses and bacteria from water without adding chemicals and generates a natural oxidizer, mainly peroxide, with high disinfectant capacity.
It was divided from a batch of 12 homogeneous American oak barrels (2013). The barrels were subdivided into 2 batches of 6 barrels, which underwent different treatments, the control lot, barrels 1 to 6, rinsed with mains water, and treatment batch (B7-B12) rinsed with water treated with ActivH2O technology.
Results revealed that with mains water it is reduced by approximately 43% in aerobics and 60% in molds and yeasts, while with ActivH2O water with only 8.5 ppm of natural oxidizer is reduced by 65% in aerobics (in 3 of the barrels 100%) and 80% in molds and yeasts (in 3 of the barrels 100%).
Clean-Biotec’s studies show that rinsing with ActivH2O water at 8.5 ppm of natural oxidizer has a positive effect on reducing the microbial load against the use of mains water.
